The Development Agency of Vojvodina (RAV) has published the September edition of the “Business Barometer of Vojvodina” – a survey that tracks and analyzes the business climate in the region. This 57th survey was conducted among 137 companies of various sizes and sectors to gain insights into the current state of the economy, entrepreneurs’ expectations, and the challenges they face.
The central theme of the research was business development management. The results indicated that, despite growing challenges such as the lack of qualified labor and rising costs, entrepreneurs in Vojvodina maintain a favorable business outlook, particularly in the agricultural and professional services sectors. While the manufacturing industry and construction are experiencing growth, they also face significant profitability challenges.
The manufacturing industry, a key driver of Vojvodina’s economy, shows stable growth but faces issues such as a shortage of skilled labor and rising production costs. Nevertheless, many companies in this sector plan to continue investing in equipment modernization to maintain their competitiveness in the market.
Conversely, the construction sector has mixed expectations. Some companies are experiencing increased activity due to new infrastructure and residential projects. In contrast, others point to challenges such as a shortage of labor and rising construction material prices, which significantly impact profitability.
Respondents from the professional, scientific, and innovative activities sectors expressed a positive sentiment towards their business performance. In the past six months, companies have recorded growth in collaboration with foreign clients, further encouraging their future expectations. Plans include continued investment in innovation and improving product quality, focusing on increasing employment and business volume.
The information and communication sector is experiencing negative trends, with respondents needing help achieving expected results. Collaboration with foreign clients has been positive, but overall performance must meet the set goals. Nevertheless, entrepreneurs in this sector remain optimistic, with plans to improve operations and growth in the upcoming period.
