The IMG manufacturing doo factory opened in Vršac – the first Czech greenfield investment in Serbia

In the Technology Park in Vrsac, the factory of plastic auto parts IMG manufacturing doo, whose investor is the Czech group IMG Bohemia was put into operation. The company plans to invest EUR 15 million in this first greenfield investment in Serbia.

The construction of a complex worth EUR 5 million, intended for producing plastic products – extruded plates and plastic tanks – has been completed. Serbia supported this investment with EUR 1.8 million, and the local self-government provided support in the preparation of planning and technical documentation.

In the subsequent phases, IMG will build plants to produce plastic parts for cars, trucks, and buses. Next to the building will be associated roads, plateaus, parking lots for passenger vehicles, pedestrian areas, and a traffic connection to the existing public road, as well as two auxiliary buildings in the form of a fire tank with a pumping station and a transformer station.

The factory was designed by all world standards, without emission of pollution or any negative impact on the environment, and the employment of 113 workers is planned, the first part of which has already undergone training in the Czech Republic.

The company’s owner, Michal Gruc, thanked the City of Vršac and the Republic of Serbia for their tremendous support while selecting this plant’s location, design, and construction. At the same time, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Serbia, Tomas Kuhta, emphasized that more and more Czech companies are investing in Serbia, but this is the first greenfield investment, after which other companies from the Czech Republic will follow.

– It’s been a little more than a year since we laid the foundation stone at this place, but then there was only a meadow here, and today I have the honor of attending the opening of a capital plant where about 100 of our fellow citizens will work – said the mayor of Vršac, Dragana Mitrovic.
