Over 1,000 B2B meetings between representatives of approximately 200 companies from 20 countries marked Supplier Day 2024, organized by the Vojvodina Development Agency (RAV) on November 19 at the “Master” Congress Center of the Novi Sad Fair. This event brought together businesses from Serbia, Germany, Japan, Italy, the USA, Turkey, China, and many other countries to foster collaboration in the metal industry, rubber, plastics, and electronics sectors.
Supplier Day, now a traditional event, is part of RAV’s ongoing efforts to develop supply chains and connect local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises with large companies seeking reliable partners in Vojvodina and beyond.
Maja Gojkovic, President of the Provincial Government, opened the event, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives for strengthening the local economy.
“This event provides small and medium-sized enterprises opportunities to join global supply chains, contributing to export growth and economic development. Special focus should be placed on innovations and new materials, as domestic companies can compete in these areas,” said Gojkovic.
Darko Buljesevic, Director of the Vojvodina Development Agency, highlighted the event’s significance for local companies.
“Supplier Day has proven to be a key platform for networking and creating business opportunities. We believe that this year’s meetings will result in successful partnerships,” stated Buljesevic.
Among the participants were renowned companies such as Ametek, Nidec Elesys Europe, Toyo Tire Serbia, Norma Group, Mecafor Products, TPV Automotive Serbia, Grah Automotive, Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, Ewes Europe East, Soplast SEE, Suprematec, AXON Kabelgyarto Kft, and many others. Their production areas include electronic systems and motors, car interior components, sealing and connecting systems, LED lighting, cables, and connectors for the automotive industry. This makes the event an ideal place for establishing new partnerships.
“This is a perfect opportunity to establish dozens of new contacts in a single day and expand your client network,” said Milan Levic of Tehnoplast. He added that participation in Supplier Day is free, making it highly valuable for companies looking to reduce business networking costs.
Goran Perkucin Djakov of AXON CABLE emphasized the importance of such events for Serbia’s economy.
“I believe events like these are very significant for Serbia’s economy, particularly for Vojvodina. We hope to establish good contacts and strengthen our position in plastics processing.”
Supplier Day 2024, organized by the Vojvodina Development Agency, was an opportunity to connect domestic and foreign companies and a vital response to challenges in global supply chains, especially in sectors such as automotive, metal, plastics, rubber, and electronics. The strong interest in this event underscores the growing need for enhanced collaboration and innovation, which is particularly important amid economic uncertainty and the transition to sustainable solutions.
For Vojvodina, with its diverse base of manufacturers and suppliers, these meetings represent a strategic opportunity for local businesses to position themselves as reliable partners in the international market, fostering regional development and contributing to global industrial transformations.
