New plants in the industrial zone in Kula

The construction of a business, production and warehouse facility for the seedling production Seveplant which is part of the Dutch company Verbeek, has entered its final stage. Production facilities for the Italian Euroin and Calzedonia are to be completed in spring. These expansions will result in employment of at least 500 people in Kula industrial zone.

150 vacancies are planned to be opened in the footwear factory Euroin and twice this number in Calzedonia, one of the lead global producers of lingerie. Seveplant’s cold storage is currently under construction on the parcel of 1.8 ha along with the workspace for sorting and grafting seedlings, office space and administration. On the territory of 110 ha, Seveplant produces about 3 million seedlings of fruit and employs approximately 90 seasonal workers out of which 50 will be employed for an indefinite period thanks to the subsidy of the Goverment of Vojvodina worth RSD 23.7 mil.

Company Euroin which has facilities in Ugrinovci near Belgrade and in Feketic, municipality of Mali Idjos, will shift its business from the leased space in Kula to a new factory in the Industrial zone simultaneously expanding its business and the number of workers.

Calzedonia has bought 2 ha of land and builds its third plant in Serbia and it already possesses Fiorano factory in Sombor and Gordon in Subotica. Kula will employ mainly women.

Opening of new vacancies are expected to reduce social spending allocations which used to amount up to RSD 90 mil per year.
