German company Continental opened a new plant in Industrial zone North IV, which will produce instrument panels and displays for cars, as well as advanced electronic vehicle management systems. The new factory will employ 500 people, and the value of the investment is 140 million euros.
In the next few months, machines and workers will move to the factory hall, and by the end of the year, the plant will fork in full capacity. The company also announced the start of the construction of another factory will start in the industrial zone in Kac, a suburban settlement of the city of Novi Sad.
Continental Automotive Srbija starts doing business in Serbia exactly three years ago, by opening the R&D center, which today employs 600 highly qualified experts, which makes it the third center of Continental in terms of the number of people, behind Germany and Romania, and ahead of Austria and France.
Due to new projects, the training center of the laboratory, and the need for new jobs, the company will expand its existing space in Novi Sad, by another 1,500 square meters.
In addition to the management of Continental, the opening of the new plant was attended by German Ambassador Thomas Shiba, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Vojvodina Prime Minister Igor Mirovic, as well as the Mayor of Novi Sad Milos Vucevic.
