Government Adopts Decree on Aid to Companies Affected by the Epidemic

On October 22, the Serbian government adopted the Decree on the conditions and criteria for coordination of state aid through a recapitalization of market participants in order to eliminate economic disturbances caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.

– Given the economic uncertainty caused by the infectious disease pandemic, the state must have appropriate mechanisms for timely action in order to preserve economic stability and maintain economic activities – says the press release from the government’s session.

This decree regulates in more detail the conditions and criteria for assessing the coordination of state aid granted through the recapitalization of market participants, who are facing financial difficulties due to the epidemic.

The measure is primarily intended to raise the liquidity of market participants through recapitalization, as one of the instruments of state aid.
