The Japanese tire and rubber company Toyo Tires has officially become an owner of 63 ha of land in the northeastern industrial zone in Indjija, known as Location 15.
One of the world’s largest manufacturers of motor vehicle tires will invest EUR 364 million in equipment and a production facility with a floor area of 300,000 m2. In the first phase, 523 workers will be employed full time.
This investment is a project of importance for the Republic of Serbia, especially for the economy of Indjija, and is the result of three years of negotiations with the Government of Serbia, the Development Agency of Serbia, and the Municipality of Indjija, materialized in the signing the contract on alienation of construction land in public ownership of the Republic of Serbia on September 16, the notice on the Indjija municipality website says.
– The fact that the negotiations lasted for three years and that several European countries have expressed interest in this investment shows how uncertain the negotiations were. The biggest competitors of Indjija were the cities of Kosice in Slovakia and Gdansk in Poland – it is stated on the website of the Municipality of Indjija.
