Serbia exported 13.1 billion euros worth goods to the world in the first six months of this year. That is 30.5 percent more than in the same period last year.
According to the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, foreign trade in goods from January to the end of June was the largest among countries with which Serbia has signed free trade agreements. The EU countries account for 58.8 percent of the total exchange. A second most important partner of Serbia is the CEFTA members (countries in the region), with whom we have an exchange surplus of 1.3 billion euros. It is the result of exports of oil and derivatives, grains and their products, iron and steel, electrical machines and appliances, and beverages.
From January to the end of June, the placement on the Russian market achieved a value of 464.3 million euros and was 5.6 percent higher than for the same period in 2021. The number of exporters to Russia increased to 680 companies, which is 70 more than in the same period last year.
Our most important export markets are Germany, China, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Montenegro, and Russia. Almost two-thirds of the products were marketed in the EU.
Serbia mainly exports food products to the regional and Russian market, and cables and auto parts to Western Europe. Copper and steel go primarily to China.
