Vojvodina had a notable presence at the leading global fruit and vegetable fair, Fruit Logistica, held in Berlin from February 7th to 9th. Domestic producers held more than 100 meetings with representatives of companies from the EU, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and many other countries.
This marked the fifth participation of Vojvodina producers at the Fruit Logistica fair, organized by the Vojvodina Development Agency (RAV). This year, five companies (Agrounija, Ćirić Agro MĐŽ, Copa, Forma BM, Biofarma Šokšić), one agricultural cooperative (Agrosoj), and three agricultural farms (Nedeljkov, Sweet Blueberry, Grin Company) were presented. Producers say they established numerous new contacts and have around 80 potentially contracted deals.
Marko Arsenović, sales manager at COPA, states that Fruit Logistica 2024 was one of their more successful fair appearances in the last four years, with over 40 organized meetings with long-standing and potential partners:
“As COPA grows yearly, our business partners also increase. Serbian apples are most interesting to buyers from India, the Middle East, and neighboring countries. We are very pleased with the interest of new clients in our apples. It is now our responsibility to justify the trust of our partners through quality, continuity, and dedication.”
Srđan Dakić, owner of the agricultural farm “Sweet Blueberry,” is satisfied with the performance and results:
“The fair in Berlin this year met all our expectations and positively surprised us with the number of visitors. Participation in such an event completely justified the number of contacts we made. We are surprised by the countries showing interest in our products, and the seriousness of the contacts was evident in the first days after the fair; now, we must make an effort for realization.”
The exhibitors presented their apples, apricots, blueberries, sweet potatoes, watermelons, cherries, onions, carrots, and organic fruits and vegetables. All the producers who attended Berlin were featured in the joint brochure “Vojvodina Region – Fruit Logistica 2024.”
RAV continues to organize participation in the Fruit Logistica fair as it brings together producers, importers, exporters, wholesale and retail traders, and all others involved in this sector, providing networking opportunities. This year, Fruit Logistica gathered top industry representatives from around the world, with 2,770 exhibitors from 140 countries across all continents in 26 exhibition halls.
