The German company opened a new facility in Subotica , where it will be producing pipes and pipe systems for vehicle powertrains which will be delivered to car manufacturers in Europe.
The new facility has 12,000 square meters, 500 people will be employed there in the next three years and with full employment of 1,150 workers, to be reached in the coming years.
Continental has been operating in Subotica since 2011 and has been employing more than 600 workers in the car and truck component factory in the Mali Bajmok Industrial Zone so far.
The factory also produces components for agricultural, freight and industrial machinery. Zivko Topalovic, General Manager of Continental ContiTech Serbia, said that the new facility was built in line with the highest technical and environmental requirements and that the factory delivered goods to demanding clients, which had recognized it as a solid partner.
Continental had a turnover of EUR 40.5 billion in 2016, and it employs more than 220,000 people in 56 countries.
